Verizon Tentatively Settles Strike

Nearly 40,000 striking Verizon workers are scheduled to return to work Wednesday, June 1, after reaching a tentative agreement on a new contract that provides gains for both the communications giant and its employees.
 
The timetable for restoring normal work schedules was announced Monday, three days after both sides reached an agreement in principle to end a strike that began in April and became one of the broadest U.S. job actions in recent years.
 

USMWF Candlelight Vigil April 28, at 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, April 28, 2016, will mark Nebraska's 7th Annual Workers' Memorial Day Candlelight Vigil, at 7 p.m. on the north steps of the Capitol. This is a day our families, State Representatives, Federal Representatives, United Support Memorial for Workplace Fatalities (USMWF) members, Union members, Co-workers, Employers and the community are invited to come together and honor the men and women that have been injured or killed in a work related incident and those we have lost fighting for our freedom.

James Dilworth

James O. Dilworth, 82, of Lincoln passed away on April 7, 2016. James was born in Crab Orchard and worked in the LT&T warehouse and shop repairing telephones. He retired in 1995. His funeral service will be 10 AM, Monday,
April 11th at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
