CWA Local 7470 stands united with the striking members of BCTGM, Local 50G.
Brothers and Sisters:
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Claud Clary. Claud served
as Secretary/Treasurer of the local from January 1971 to June 1983.
Claud was instrumental in the acquisition of the land, the building of our hall, and
retiring our mortgage, in addition to all other Secretary/Treasurer duties of the local.
I had the pleasure of conversing with Claud on a visit to Arizona, where he enjoyed
his retirement years, and I witnessed a CWA jacket that Claud had mounted on
his golf cart for all the world to see as he motored around the community.
Claud was a man of integrity, who was very proud of his membership with CWA.
He retired from Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in the early 80’s
and was 95 years old at the time of his passing.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of
Joyce Jacobson. Joyce is the wife of longtime CWA Local 7470 executive board
member and retiree, Richard "Jake" Jacobson. Our thoughts and prayers
are with the family at this most difficult time. She will be missed.
Members listening to bargaining committee member Darren Donovan explain what was going on in bargaining and encouraging everyone to stay strong and united.
Not only did Local 7470 members show support for our Union, but other Union Brothers and Sisters turned out to offer their support and we can't thank them enough.
Members banding together to fight for our rights.
A show of support for our bargaining committee.
We are staying united and strong.
Health care is very important to all of us!
Wages and good benefits for all.
Talking it over at the end of the day.
